Feast of Fire — Wexford, Ireland
Fire. Food. People. One unforgettable August weekend in the Wexford countryside.
Smokin’ Soul brings Feast of Fire to the lush countryside of County Wexford in the south-east of Ireland for an intimate weekend on the 6th, 7th & 8th of August unlike a conventional food festival.
Just 170 guests. A remarkable collection of chefs and fire cooks. A succession of restaurant-quality dishes cooked over flames throughout the weekend. International pitmasters. Visiting chefs. TV cooks and personalities. Demonstrations. Music. Camping. A licensed bar.
And the chance to spend the entire weekend with the people making it happen.
Your €350 ticket covers the Feast of Fire experience rather than simply admission through a gate.
WHAT IS SMOKIN’ SOUL?
Imagine taking some of the most interesting people working with food and fire, bringing them together in the Wexford countryside and giving them a weekend to cook for a tiny group of guests.
Not thousands.
Not even hundreds and hundreds.
Around 170 people.
That scale changes everything.
Instead of watching a demonstration from the back of a huge crowd, you can be around the cooking.
Instead of seeing a chef for half an hour, you spend the weekend in the same environment.
Instead of buying little samples from a succession of traders, your meals are being created as part of a programme designed specifically for the people attending.
It is closer to being invited to an extraordinary weekend-long cookout than attending a conventional festival.
WHAT WILL I EAT?
The weekend is structured around 11 scheduled food services plus an opening cocktail experience.
FRIDAY
The weekend begins with our cocktail experience, led by a specialist who will get Feast of Fire underway properly.
Then:
18:30 — Main
21:00 — Light Bite
Friday is about arriving, settling in and beginning to understand that this is going to be a very different sort of weekend.
SATURDAY
Saturday revolves around the fires from morning until night.
09:30 — Breakfast
11:30 — Light Bite
13:30 — Main
14:30 — Dessert
16:30 — Main
18:30 — Light Bite
20:30 — Main
That’s seven individual food services over the course of Saturday alone.
And because this is Feast of Fire, eating is only one part of each dish.
You’ll also see the cooking.
Meet the people responsible for it.
Hear about the techniques and ideas behind it.
And see extraordinary equipment being put to work over live flame.
SUNDAY
09:30 — Breakfast
12:30 — Main
A final morning together and one last major Feast of Fire dish before the weekend comes to an end.
RESTAURANT-QUALITY FOOD — COOKED IN FRONT OF YOU
The idea is not to give you a weekend of little tasting spoons.
The restricted number of guests allows our chefs to cook proper food.
Restaurant-quality dishes.
Thought through properly.
Prepared by people who care enormously about what reaches the plate.
Only here, the kitchen is likely to involve open flames, glowing embers, smoke, steel, enormous grills and some extraordinary pieces of live-fire equipment.
You don’t simply eat the finished dish.
You see where it came from.
AN INTERNATIONAL GATHERING OF FIRE COOKS
Feast of Fire brings together chefs and pitmasters with experience and influences from across the world.
Some will fly in specifically for the weekend.
Some will be recognised television chefs or personalities.
Others will be respected specialists from the worlds of barbecue, live-fire cooking and hospitality.
What matters is that they aren’t simply booked to appear for an hour.
They become part of the event.
The team will collaborate, exchange ideas, imagine dishes and then cook them for you across the weekend.
For anyone fascinated by food, barbecue or the craft of cooking with fire, it is a rare opportunity to see what happens when that amount of knowledge and creativity comes together in one place.
THE DEMONSTRATION DOESN’T END WHEN THE DEMO ENDS
At most events, a demonstration finishes and the chef disappears.
Here, you’ll probably see them again around another fire half an hour later.
That’s the whole point.
Ask questions.
Watch them work.
Talk about wood, charcoal, smokers, cuts, vegetables, heat, seasoning, grills and technique.
See the preparation as well as the finished plate.
Then relax with everyone afterwards.
You aren’t buying a meet-and-greet. You are sharing the weekend.
COCKTAILS, MUSIC & EVENINGS AROUND THE FIRE
The food sits at the centre of Feast of Fire, but it isn’t the whole weekend.
Your ticket also includes the opening cocktail experience, live music and the entertainment included within the programme.
A licensed bar will be available throughout the event.
And when the scheduled cooking starts to wind down, the idea is not that everyone immediately disappears.
Stay around the fire.
Listen to the music.
Have a drink.
Talk.
That’s when an event starts to become a community.
CAMPING IS INCLUDED
Camping on site is included for those who want it.
There is something particularly special about staying over rather than treating Feast of Fire like a day ticket.
No rush for the exit.
No need to leave the atmosphere behind just as the evening begins.
And in the morning, you wake up and there is another fire to find and another meal coming.
WHY ONLY 170 PEOPLE?
Because if we let Feast of Fire become enormous, it would stop being Feast of Fire.
The limit is deliberate.
Around 170 people is small enough for guests and cooks to interact naturally.
It’s small enough to remember faces.
Small enough to make friends.
Small enough for returning visitors to see people they met the previous year.
And small enough for food to be created for you rather than mass-produced for an anonymous crowd.
We are not building Feast of Fire so that one day 5,000 people can attend.
We are building it so that one day 170 people can’t imagine missing it.
WILL NEXT YEAR BE THE SAME?
No.
And neither will Devon.
The format is the familiar part.
Relaxed.
Intimate.
Exceptional cooks.
Food throughout the weekend.
Access.
Fire.
Everything else changes.
Each event features different chefs and dishes, and we intend every Feast of Fire to introduce a different major fire-cooking machine, installation, technique or showpiece.
So returning isn’t about repeating something you enjoyed.
It is about seeing what happens next.
BOOKEND YOUR SUMMER
Feast of Fire has two homes.
Smoke on the Waters — Devon — May Bank Holiday
and
Smokin’ Soul — Wexford — August 6th, 7th & 8th
You can come to one.
Or make the two weekends your bookends to the summer.
The format connects them.
The cooking doesn’t repeat.

MORE THAN A TICKET
The long-term idea behind Feast of Fire is simple.
People come once.
They meet people.
They discover chefs.
They make friends.
Then they come back.
Returning guests receive preferential opportunities to access future tickets before general release, allowing the Feast of Fire community to develop while the event itself remains small.
And because each weekend changes, being part of that community means there will always be new chefs, dishes and fires waiting next time.
YOUR PLACE AROUND THE FIRE
Smokin’ soul takes place over on August 6th, 7th & 8th in the lush Wexford countryside in south-east Ireland.
Only around 170 tickets will be available.
We don’t intend to increase that number simply because demand increases.
That’s what keeps this special.
Come hungry. Stay for the weekend. Meet the people behind the food. And become part of Feast of Fire.
